ROWING SCHOLARSHIPS
Our rowing crews are going from strength to strength and it remains a very popular element of our sporting provision.
We’re extremely proud of the achievements of our rowers over the past five years since the Sixth Form Rowing Scholarship was established in 2017. Incredibly popular with pupils, rowing is one of our flagship sports at Sydenham & Dulwich Girls. Our Sixth Form rowers regularly compete in national major events and regattas, including the National Schools, Women’s Head and School’s Head. Weekly training on the water takes place from Dulwich College Boat Club.
A Rowing Scholarship value is usually up to 20% of the annual school fee and is expected to be held continuously from Year 12 to 13. Pupils must have successfully passed the scholarship assessment for Year 12 in order to be awarded a Rowing Scholarship.
The application process
YEAR 12
The application form must be completed online by Friday 17 October 2025, including details of any certificates or awards won and ideally at least one reference that comment on achievements, potential and commitment, alongside any other relevant information, such as details of racing experience.
The Assessment
Once the online application form has been completed, candidates will be invited to sit the Sixth Form Scholarship exam.
Prospective Rowing Scholars must complete an Ergo session and all candidates will be invited to an interview with the Head of Rowing.
