The sun was shining this week, and pupils made the most of every ray, coming together for Year 8’s charity day, raising funds for our four vital house charities, whilst filling the school with laughter, energy and plenty of house spirit!
Each house worked with fantastic collaborative spirit, to host their own unique fundraising events:
Grey kept things classic with a bake sale, proving an enormous hit and selling out in no time.
Shirreff served up some well needed refreshment in style with a lemonade stand offering fizzy and pink lemonade, alongside a popular game of guessing the sweets in the jar.
Stanley took to the Sports Hall for a fierce dodgeball tournament, where the winning team were rewarded with a well-earned sweet prize.
However, Gurney was the star of the day with their annual water fight! With the sun blazing down, pupils and staff alike grabbed their water balloons, with results as chaotic and joyful as you’d hope.
The day was a resounding success, raising £1079 for these life changing charities, as well as being a celebration of what makes our school community so special.
