Pupils explored the impact of Climate Change, focusing on how longer, rainier seasons in Bangladesh lead to severe flooding. They learned about the charity Practical Action and its ingenious solution of floating gardens, which help Bangladeshi communities continue growing crops and keeping animals during monsoon seasons.
Taking on the role of Practical Action charity workers, the boys and girls worked in mixed teams to design and build their own model floating gardens using recycled materials. Inspired by real‑life challenges faced by farmers, they thought carefully about how their structures could stay afloat while supporting crops. After proudly presenting their designs, the children headed outside to test their creations in water.
It was a fun and engaging morning for everyone involved.
