Year 12 student secures honorable mention in national essay competition

Year 12 student Comfort has been recognised as an honorable mention in All Souls Challenge, run by Empowered Voices.

All Souls Challenge

Inspired by Oxford University’s prestigious fellowship examination, the All Souls Challenge is open to Year 12 students across the UK, inspiring rigorous thinking and eloquent expression of an elite university standard. Entrants choose one of five questions and write a 1,000 word essay designed to tackle philosophical questions, analyse complex problems, and develop sophisticated arguments.

Comfort, budding medical student, chose the prompt “Is boredom the most underrated human experience?” Her insightful answer examined how boredom is an underrated diagnostic tool, exploring how it can serve as an indicator of underlying pathology in conditions like depression, ADHD and burnout.

We are incredibly proud of Comfort’s intellectual curiosity and her fantastic national recognition for this.
