Bold Tendencies
Our Year 10 GCSE artists took their learning beyond the walls of the art studio, embarking on an inspiring trip filled with contemporary exhibitions and hands-on workshops to support their “Excess and Decadence” project.
Travelling to Peckham, pupils visited the innovative arts organisation Bold Tendencies. Greeted by Simon Whybray’s famous, vibrant pink staircase, the group explored Euphoria, a striking multidisciplinary programme spanning visual arts, performance, music, sculpture, photography, digital art, design, and architecture, celebrating Bold Tendencies’ 20th anniversary season.
Following their gallery tour, pupils headed to the Sonsoles printmaking studio for a practical workshop. They experimented with screen printing techniques, producing wild-coloured, vivid prints featuring gluttonous imagery, tying directly back into their curriculum themes. It was a fantastic opportunity for girls to explore professional artistic spaces and bring their classroom concepts to life.
