The U19 Netball Squad played fantastically well in their 1st cup game on Wednesday against Langley Park School for Boys sixth form girls.
We got off to a steady start keeping possession of the ball and bringing it down the court nicely. As the game progressed we really got into our flow, demonstrating fantastic teamwork in both defence and attack, continuing with brilliant transitions down the court, implementing a range of successful strategies. Every player should be extremely proud of how they started this season . It is great to have players from across years 10 to 13 working together to bring about such excellence. A final score of 36 – 21 to SDG has made us excited for the rest of the season.

The U14 netball team worked incredibly hard in their first cup game of the season against Eltham College. The scoreline did not reflect the level of possession throughout the entirety of the game, nor the efforts of the SDG girls. Our defense worked extraordinarily hard and in the last quarter turned over 8 balls. Although we struggled at times to match the athleticism of Eltham College, in terms of technicality we weren’t far off. Moving forward, we will be working on reducing unforced errors, trajectory of passing and decision making. Freya was deservedly named player of the match but a big well done to all the girls for their continued determination throughout the game; our performance in the fourth quarter was superb.
