Individual Success

Signey
On Sunday May 24th Signey competed in Taekwondo sparring. This was at the 6th Wales TKD International Championships, held in Cardiff.
Signey did really well, despite nerves and a long day in a very loud and warm sports arena, and ended up winning a gold medal after an intense final.

Orla
Y12 Orla’s recent race report:

On Wednesday I raced at the Watford Gold BMC and got a new 800m pb of 2.11
(2 second pb)! Hoping to improve this as it was my first proper 800, as my last one was championship racing so it was more tactical!

This week I also raced in very hot conditions at the Surrey county 1500m champs! And came away with second and ran an English schools standard. It was slightly slower than ideal but the first 2 laps were slow and tactical, nearly catching number 1 (who won the other Surreys and ran for England )! Also considering the heat it was good!

Recent race recaps:

1. Mini London Marathon
7th in London + 27th overall in GB!

2. Bannister mile.
Mile and 1500m pb + ES qualifying for 1500m. (also ranking me top 10 in the UK for the mile)

3. Surrey Champs
PB and ES qualifying time!

3 PBs and English schools standard for both my events! Hopefully I will continue to improve as my recent 800 was slower than I would’ve liked until I had 300m left and was in a negative split.
