Pupils and families joined us for breakfast and celebrations this morning in our beautiful new spaces, including The Foundry, our brand new Sixth Form building.
An extraordinary 54% of all grades are 9/8 (A*), with more than 31% of all entries at grade 9. With 21% of pupils achieving a clean sweep of 9/8 grades, and 39% earning a full set of 9–7 grades, these results are a historic moment for Sydenham & Dulwich Girls.
The records keep tumbling, with individual achievements equally breathtaking with a significant number of our students achieving 10 GCSEs at grade 9.
Highlights include: Art with 90% 9-7 and our Modern Languages Department (Italian, French, Spanish & German) with an outstanding 68% 9/8 and 79% 9-7. Across the whole cohort of 90 girls, the English Department has impressed with 62% 9/8 and 77% of grades at 9-7, whilst in the Sciences, 2 out of 3 grades are Grade 9/8 across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and in Further Mathematics 73% of grades are 9-7.
“I am absolutely delighted to celebrate these record-breaking results with our Year 11 pupils. This is an extraordinary milestone and a testament to each pupil’s unwavering dedication, ambition, and hard work. I am immensely proud of our staff, whose expert guidance, inspiration, and tailored support enable our girls to reach these exceptional heights. As they look ahead to their Sixth Form journey, I know they will continue to thrive and rise to every new challenge.”
Ms Geldeard, Head
These results reinforce the value of an all-round education – one where every girl is encouraged to excel in the subjects she loves, is valued and known as a person and offered the opportunity to achieve her personal best across the board.
A short break awaits, and then it is time for our students to dive into the subjects they are most passionate about at A Level! Congratulations to Year 11 – you smashed it!

“Teachers have been so supportive with all the clubs and clinics on offer. They provided lots of extra stretch and challenge and broadened our understanding of subjects. It was a great help to us all.”

“My advice to others: genuinely believe in yourself because I didn’t think I would do as well as I did. Keep trying, go to all the extra sessions because they really help. Anything is possible!”
