Spring Term Sports Assembly
On Wednesday morning, our Spring Term Sports Assembly took place and it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate a busy and successful period of sport across the school.
The assembly was led by our Year 6 Sports Leaders – Arabella, Ariana, Blake, Georgia, Jess, Lana, Rayyaa and Ruby – who did an excellent job of reporting on the term’s sporting fixtures, events, competitions and trips.
Pupils’ achievements were recognised across Hockey, Netball and Swimming, highlighting both individual progress and team success. It was fantastic to reflect on the enthusiasm, commitment and sportsmanship shown by all those involved.
Well done to all pupils who represented the school this term, and thank you to our Sports Leaders for leading such a confident and engaging assembly.
U9 Netball vs Blackheath High
On Wednesday afternoon, our Year 4 netballers braved hail and strong winds to travel to Blackheath High for the final netball fixture of the school year. Despite the challenging conditions, all players showed fantastic determination and enthusiasm throughout.
The A team played out another thrilling match, finishing in an exciting 6–6 draw. Alica and Margot were both on excellent form in attack, each scoring three goals. The team demonstrated some fantastic netball, moving the ball down the court with increasing speed and precision. Their improvement since the start of the season in September was clear to see, with growing confidence, teamwork, and understanding of the game. There is plenty of potential within this group, and it will be exciting to see their continued progress in the years ahead. Margot was deservedly named Player of the Match by the opposition for her excellent performance.
The B team played a closely contested match, narrowly losing 2–1. Riya scored the team’s goal, but all players contributed to a determined and resilient performance. The team showed great improvement in their positioning and passing, working hard to create opportunities and defend as a unit. It was particularly pleasing to see their growing confidence on court and willingness to support one another throughout the game.
A special mention goes to Charlotte and Kira, who very sportingly offered to play for the opposition when they were a player short, showing great maturity and team spirit. Kira was also chosen as Player of the Match, a testament to her positive attitude and excellent contribution across the afternoon.
A huge well done to all the players for their effort, resilience, and teamwork in windy conditions! It has been wonderful to see how much progress has been made this season – an excellent way to finish the year!
