Exceptional value added
We are dedicated to a personalised education for each girl. Our outstanding value added continued this year, and we are thrilled that 20% of all grades were awarded A*, with almost a quarter achieving straight A*/A grades in 3 or more A Levels.
We are very proud that 51% of all grades achieved were A*/A, with almost 80% graded A*-B, and 95% A*-C.
“Each year I am proud of the increasingly strong results of our Year 13 leavers. This particular year group is ambitious, positive and full of spark – I am incredibly impressed by their determination to succeed and their ability to seek out the pathways which are right for them. Whether our girls join us at Reception, Senior School or for Sixth Form, the value added here is tremendous and a testimony to our wonderful staff too. We are excited to watch each pupil’s next steps as they leave us well prepared for their chosen fields – be that sustainability, finance, biochemistry or product design!”
Ms Geldeard, Head
With sunshine streaming into the Orangery, our Year 13 2025 cohort celebrated a fantastic set of results – a reflection of their hard work and commitment to securing top grades as they spring into the next stage of their educational journey.
We are thrilled that over 50% of all grades achieved were A*/A, with almost 80% graded A*-B, and 95% A*-C.
Economics remains a very popular subject with 86% of grades at A*/A and Maths with 71% of grades at A*/A. Seven students are going on to read Economics or Business related degrees. Our girls also achieved 50% A*/A grades in A level Sciences and several pupils are going on to specialise in Science, including courses such as Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, Pharmacy and Psychology.
Geography and History were subjects in which pupils showed tremendous value added and praised their teachers for their tuition. 67% A*/A grades in Geography and 50% A*/A in History. One of our Head Girls, Lara, is off to read Geography at Warwick and said “I’m very, very happy! I want to say thank you to everyone in Sydenham, especially and all my teachers! Thank you so much for the support”
Exemplifying our bespoke Futures education, which allows each girl the support and guidance to pursue her own passions, we have students going on to a wide range of courses, including Criminology, Forensic Science and Ancient History.
Our mission is to provide a tailored education which develops confident, well informed young women, who seize every opportunity.
Sherina A*AAA
Sherina achieved an impressive A*AAA in Maths, Chemistry, Computer Science and Further Maths respectively, and is going to read Economics, Finance & Data Science at Imperial.
As a bursary recipient, Sherina also shared how grateful she is to have the opportunity of attending Sydenham High.
“I am really happy! It was a bit unexpected, but I did better than I thought. I am really grateful for all the support that I’ve had, especially our Head of Futures, Mrs Stoney. She’s supported me throughout the whole journey. At first, I didn’t even know if I should apply to this course because it had such high requirements, but she told me to go for it and I’m really happy that I did.”

Viktoriia A*A*A*AA
We are very proud of all our pupils, but Viktoriia had an added challenge of learning English when she joined us in Year 10 from Ukraine, and yet she achieved an impressive A*A*A*AA for Maths, EPQ, Russian, Economics and Politics respectively. She is now going to read Philosophy, Politics & Economics (PPE) at UCL.
“I just want to say thank you to all of my teachers and friends in the school. These years were amazing and I’ll miss everyone!”
Viktoriia
As the girls spilled out onto the lawn, the beaming smiles and congratulatory hugs continued, with families sharing their memories of the school and revelling in their daughters’ joy.
“The school has been incredibly supportive, and the level of commitment from the staff is impeccable. Rebecca joined Sydenham in the Sixth Form, and the support she has received has been truly remarkable. She was diagnosed with several neurodivergencies at the beginning of Year 12, and the school has made adjustments and provided continuous support for her. Her cohort has also been wonderfully close-knit, creating a positive and encouraging environment. Mrs Parrish, Mr Hurst, and the Sixth Form team have been spectacular, consistently going above and beyond to support the girls. Rebecca and her peers often say that the way the staff teach makes the journey enjoyable. Lessons are made fun and engaging, helping them to truly enjoy both the learning and the process. The relationship between the staff and the girls is something truly special and unique. We are so proud of Rebecca’s achievements and are deeply grateful for all the support from Sydenham High.”
Mrs Whitfield (Rebecca achieved A*A*A*)
“The best thing about Sydenham High’s Sixth Form is the small, supportive cohort. Pupils receive individualised support tailored to their needs. When Elena started Sixth Form, she felt there was a lot of work to do and worried she might not be able to manage it all. However, once she settled in, she found the cohort to be incredibly kind and encouraging. They work hard and motivate each other, creating a positive and determined atmosphere for learning. The relationship with the staff, and their level of commitment, is truly amazing. Pupils also benefit from one-to-one UCAS support, which makes a real difference. We are all so proud of Elena’s achievements.”
Mrs Aristidou (Elena is heading off to read Modern Foreign Languages at Bath)
