U11 Cricket v Blackheath High
On Wednesday, our U11s took to the pitch against Blackheath High for a brilliant afternoon of sun and cricket. For most of the team, this was their first game of the summer, but you never would have guessed!
The energy was high from the very start. During the warm-up, everyone was “in the zone,” practicing their bowling and getting their throwing arms ready. The teachers were super impressed with how everyone attacked the ball in the field and kept their bowling straight and true.
The A Team game was a real thriller that went right down to the last few balls. It was a super close contest, but our players won by 5 runs. Sienna was chosen as bowler of the match for steaming in with loads of power so the ball flew past the opposition. Ettie was selected as batter of the match displaying great composure in her decisions and reacting to the fielding setup.
The B Team also had a fantastic day at the crease, finishing their match with a win of 259-241. Bowler of the Match was Anya, for her awesome bowling action and consistent line, which made it incredibly difficult for the facing batter to get away. Poppy was chosen as batter of the match. She knocked a brilliant 10 runs and started picking exactly where she wanted to hit the ball.
The best part of the day was seeing everyone calling loudly to their batting partners and working together in the field. It was great to see all that hard work in practice and lessons paying off.
