This Thursday, we joined more than 200,000 pupils, from over 1,350 schools across the UK, in celebrating National Schools Cricket Day. The enthusiasm in both the Junior and Senior school was unmistakable. Pupils embraced a full programme of cricket‑themed activities designed to build skills, confidence and, most importantly, foster enjoyment of the game.
Throughout the Senior and Junior school, pupils took part in a series of catching and batting challenges, testing their reactions, coordination and technique. Friendly competition quickly took hold, with girls cheering one another on and pushing themselves to attain the best score. Prizes will be awarded to the best catching and batting challenge scores across the years next week.
In total, over 150 girls participated, a fantastic reflection of the growing passion for girls’ cricket within our community. The day not only showcased impressive talent but also highlighted the inclusive, team‑spirited culture that continues to strengthen across our sports programme.
National Schools Cricket Day was a wonderful reminder of how sport can bring students together, build confidence, and spark new interests. We look forward to seeing this momentum carry into the summer term.
