ISI REPORTS

We are delighted that we have successfully met all of the Independent School Inspectorate’s high standards, under the new framework which moves away from graded judgements. We are extremely proud of the key findings below which highlight many of the strengths of the school as well as our unwavering commitment to delivering an excellent education for our girls.

Leadership and management and governance
The report recognises the committed and passionate group who drive the school forward, supported wholeheartedly by the staff, which leads to a positive and effective learning environment, benefitting pupils’ development as young people, ready for their futures. Leaders work together successfully with a clear focus on educating the whole person. They actively promote the wellbeing of all pupils, taking a strategic and inclusive approach.

Quality of education, training and recreation
The inspectors endorse the consistent progress made by pupils who are actively involved in their
learning. The report highlights the professional, respectful and warm relationships between pupils and teachers. The significant improvement in academic results in the last 5 years is commended, with inspectors noting that pupils outperform their predictions much of the time. Pupils are recognised as acquiring a wide range of skills and knowledge, responding positively to challenges and stretch
opportunities. The co-curricular life is praised and shown as a key contributor to our motivated and happy pupils.

Pupils’ physical and mental health and emotional wellbeing
There is praise for pupil wellbeing which is described as central to the school’s ethos and approach. The school’s extensive provision for supporting physical and mental health is recognised and the report attests to the sense of community which pervades the whole school. The culture curriculum and active approach to developing character values, creating a positive and happy learning environment, is acknowledged.

Pupils’ social and economic education and contribution to society
The report recognises the ethos of respect and kindness, seeing pupils interact with each other and adults with confidence. There is an endorsement of the school’s effective preparation of the girls for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life as well as the pupils’ developed perspectives and understanding of the wider world issues. The report attests to the high level of pupil engagement in the Careers Programme.

Safeguarding
The inspectors note that leaders maintain a robust approach to safeguarding, with our policies and
procedures described as comprehensive and maintained appropriately. The report highlights that
pupils’ progress and wellbeing is always at the centre of decision making.
